MNLART: WHAT

  1. MSW8HH:  Emailing support@osoapps.com directing them to this point:
    1. MSW8HS:  Dear OSOApps,
    2. MSW8NW:  I’d  love Livo Recorder except for 2 killer drawbacks:
      1.  MSW8K0:   can’t record phone calls: yes your site explains this is because “Phone Call Recording is NOT currently supported consistently by various Android devices”, but there are 25+ apps featuring doing so  so it would certainly desirable if not expected yours did as well.
      2. MSW8KI:  biggest: the subject of this message: getting ones data (ones recorded files) out of your app:
        1. MSW8LV:  can’s seem to move the data out without data loss & complication, including:
          1. MSW9KS:  You give your files seemingly random numbers as “livo_recording_102204.amr”, not recording start date as say utc2013.09.09Mon102343, else how the Android camera app does similarly.
            1. MSWBGM: So other than each file’s mod date which is easily lost, there then seems no way to keep when the recording was made, other than keeping & referencing the Livo’s directory database, apparently in SQLite, but of undocumented format.
          2. MSW8M3:  see no docs for how to do this on your site for the product. And
        2. MSW8MI:  of course the problem is key & ongoing: one’s mobile device will fill up and even if not is vulnerable to loss.
        3. MSW8MW:  Yes you do advertise sending recordings to Google Drive and elsewhere, but that then must be done manually for each recording  (and if not done immediately, I think it looses the recording time).
        4. MSW8OF:  The problem is so serious  I’ve just posted for workarounds  to our group, and am now posting this article.
        5. MSWA7W:  As an example that is not a crackhead, else much less of one, my Picasa Mobile ($.99) automatically & within minutes uploads every picture & video I take in Android to my Picasa account (so safe; and also instantly sharable) and uploads by default with 0 data loss; only woe is I periodically have to delete the originals off my phone when storage fills up but carefully verify each to see it has been uploaded.
      3. MSW8QJ:  And because of both these problems, I’m busy searching for alternative voice recording software, a comparison report report I’m publishing (currently under construction).
        1. MSW9QK:  However, especially not knowing this (about export woes) when I selected & started started your product,  I’ve already got hundreds of files in your format, some on the phone and some (with data as date loss) off it, since I’m still stuck dealing with your undocumented & inconvenient format for all those files, even if I had a better product for future files.
    3.  MSW8QT:  To benefit as many as possible, please reply by commenting here  on this article; else by having posted on the web a standard answer, ideally which anyone can comment on (as possible here), and telling me the URL.  Or as last resort, message back and I’ll post your reply here. Thanks.

  4. MSWARL:  Renamed title from “How to move all ones Livo Recorder files to Google Drive or elsewhere easily & w/o info loss” to present as the cuteness provides an attractive memorable summary, plus the tiny humors negative suggestion (getting out alive) is somewhat deserved from the product’s getting me the customer hooked but then so far not seeing me through; pst2013.09.09Mon2303.
