- NW2M0E table of contents overall for remainder: ‘definition’ + ‘post history additional’
- NW2M0U ‘definition’:
- NW0JT3 A whistleblower I define
- NW2QZW as
- NW0LES essentially a person doing righteous exposure of illicit activity which is the most dangerous in terms of others supporting them doing so as least when they start,
- NW0LEM specifically a person, who typically-solo else with no more than say 2 additional cohorts, exposes illicit activity early, as typically-first, so the problems can be corrected, even though that’s not the person’s normal job, or effectively nobody else having the job is doing there as they should, and even though there it is likely the bad doers will respond to such exposure and usually just any perceived risk of it by doing significant reprisal (so more bad) against the person to the degree that most people seeing the illicit don’t report it.
- NW2QZ7 since I found no other definition which is nearly complete
- NW4DN3 after checking
- NW4DNM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whistleblower (from #NW4EDA find 3)
- NW4E0P which currently has ‘a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, dishonest, or not correct within an organization that is either private or public.[2] .. Whistleblowers also face stiff reprisal/retaliation from those who are accused or alleged of wrongdoing. .. Whistleblowers face legal action, criminal charges, social stigma, and termination from any position, office, or job. [next paragraph] Whistleblowers frequently face reprisal, sometimes at the hands of the organization or group which they have accused, sometimes from related organizations, and sometimes under law. ’
- NW4DXU which has shortcomings
- NW4DY2 ‘deemed illegal, dishonest, or not correct’ seems can be more just called ‘illicit’
- NW4DZV ‘information or’
- NW4E8T ‘within an organization that is either private or public’ appears unnecessary
- NW4E9A several necessary criteria not mentioned or later mentioned as optional.
- NW4EKE mixes in (so clusters with) lots of optional or/and consequential aspects.
- NW4EQ7 ‘Whistleblowers face..’ is often but NOT necessarily a consequence, indeed it can be 0 or more not ‘and’ so all
- NW4EXJ ‘Whistleblowers frequently face reprisal’ –{not ‘frequently’ but ‘always’} and {‘reprisal’ has a poor def}
- NW4DXU which has shortcomings

- NW4EDA https://www.google.com/search?q=define+”whistleblower” ‘s Google definition
- NW4EEA currently ‘a person who informs on a person or organization engaged in an illicit activity.’
- NW4F2Z http://www.thefreedictionary.com/whistleblower (from #NW4EDA find 2) has
- NW4F50 dictionary definition 1
- NW4F58 currently ‘One who reveals wrongdoing within an organization to the public or to those in positions of authority: “The Pentagon’s most famous whistleblower is… hoping to get another chance to search for government waste” (Washington Post).’
- NW4F6J thesaurus definition
- NW4F6S currently ‘an informant who exposes wrongdoing within an organization in the hope of stopping it; “the law gives little protection to whistleblowers who feel the public has a right to know what is going on”; “the whistleblower was fired for exposing the conditions in mental hospitals”’
- NW4F50 dictionary definition 1

- NW4DNM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whistleblower (from #NW4EDA find 3)
- NW4DN3 after checking
- NW0J7T So as can be inferred by that (the definition), whistleblowing is a dangerous job, by a typically-solo self-appointed soldier or perhaps equivalently a very good-Samaritan, who sometimes perishes from the job, but other times routinely saves society when unfortunately few others will, because doing job requires someone brave or foolish enough to fight a righteous battle typically alone, at least at the start
- NW0LEC biggest recent example is Eric Snowden, who risked & still risks near-certain wrongful imprisonment by the US for exposing that the US government has been secretly seriously spying on all phone & email users here (so essentially everyone), which then resulted in the spying being reduced.
